Mobile camps with the herds
Our private mobile camps are repositioned every three weeks to follow the wildebeest. You sleep within earshot of lion song and wake to fresh tracks at the edge of the mess tent.

Africa Camps Bay
Eight nights composed around the rhythms of the Serengeti — the southern plains in calving season, the western corridor as the herds press north, the remote north for the river crossings. Senior naturalists, mobile camps moved to the herds, and fewer than thirty private journeys a year.

Every itinerary is led by a Silver- or Gold-level Tanzanian guide with a minimum of fifteen seasons in the ecosystem. No trainees, no rotations.
Open-sided 4×4s with charging points, beanbags, and unobstructed sight-lines. For photographers we configure a fully private vehicle with two rows removed.
Where regulations allow — primarily in the western and northern private concessions — walking safaris and after-dark drives extend the day in quietly thrilling ways.
A portion of every journey supports the Serengeti Lion Project, the Frankfurt Zoological Society, and the Maasai community trusts at Loliondo.
Caravan and Cessna hops connect each leg in under an hour. Less time in transit, more time in the bush.

Your route
Met at Kilimanjaro International and driven to a coffee-estate retreat below Mount Meru. Dinner with your lead planner; the journey is briefed in detail.
Light aircraft to Ndutu. Two nights in a private mobile camp on the calving plains: predator activity peaks here in the short rains.
Move north into the woodlands of Seronera. Leopards in the kopjes, resident lion prides, the unhurried river circuits at first light.
Two nights at a low-density camp above the Mara River. River crossings in season; in calmer months, the great elephant herds of the north.
Light aircraft south. A long lunch and a hot shower before your evening flight home — or onward to Zanzibar.

★★★★★
“The most considered week of travel of our lives. Our guide read the bush like a book and the camp staff anticipated everything before we asked.”
★★★★★
“Three river crossings in two days, and not another vehicle in sight. The logistics were invisible, which is the highest compliment.”
★★★★★
“We have travelled in East Africa four times. This was the first journey where the planning felt as personal as the place.”
