Africa Camps Bay

Responsible travel

We work with the Maasai partnership at Loliondo, the conservation concessions of the Serengeti, and a small list of camps whose practice we revisit every year. Our position is straightforward: fewer journeys, longer stays, and a transparent contribution to the people and places we travel through.

Highlights

Loliondo Maasai partnership

Our work in the Loliondo concession is structured through a long-standing partnership with the Maasai landowners. A meaningful share of every journey there flows into the community trust.

Conservation contribution per journey

Each itinerary contributes to anti-poaching, ranger salaries, and community schooling in the areas you travel through. We share the line items in writing before you confirm.

Annual camp visits

We visit every property in our portfolio at least annually. Camps that drift from their stated practice are removed from the list.

Carbon, frankly addressed

We work with verified gold-standard offsets, but we are honest about their limits — we prefer fewer, longer journeys above all.

Where you sleep

Your private guide

The single most important booking decision you'll make.

After twenty seasons in the bush, I still hold my breath at every river crossing. That feeling — that's what I plan your safari around.

Your private vehicle

Every seat is a window seat. Always.

We use only modified Toyota Land Cruisers with open roofs, charging points and beanbag stabilisers — never more than six guests per vehicle, so no one ever sits in the middle.

  • Open canvas roof for unobstructed sight-lines
  • USB charging at every seat
  • Beanbag stabilisers for telephoto lenses
  • Onboard fridge with chilled water and beverages

★★★★★

We have asked many operators for transparency on community contributions. Africa Camps Bay was the first to share the figures without our having to push.
